Blue holicer
The Blue Holicer is a rare Czech breed, developed in the town of Holice and recognised principally within Czech and central European rabbit standards.
It is little known outside that region and English-language documentation is sparse.
It is a medium rabbit with a blue-grey coat and, characteristically, white markings including a blaze and eye circles. Sources on the breed are limited, and where its history, exact weight range and temperament are concerned, the honest position is that reliable detail is thin outside Czech breeding records. What is not in doubt is that its care needs are those of any medium rabbit.

Living with a blue holicer
Care does not vary meaningfully by breed, and the basics matter far more than anything specific to a rare one.
Keep rabbits in neutered pairs — they are highly social and a lone rabbit is a lonely one. Provide space for several consecutive hops and to stand fully upright on the hind legs; most commercially sold hutches fall short of every welfare guideline.
Feed hay as roughly eighty per cent of the diet, greens daily, pellets sparingly. Vaccinate annually against myxomatosis and both strains of rabbit haemorrhagic disease. Groom weekly, check teeth and hind feet, and treat a rabbit that stops eating as a same-day emergency.
