A place to show off your pets, and to lose an afternoon to everyone else's.
What this is
ShareYourPets is a small community site. People post photographs of their animals, sorted by species and breed, and everyone else looks at them. That is the entire product. There is no feed to optimise, no follower count, and nothing to buy.
How it works
- Browsing is open. No account, no cookie banner, no wall.
- Posting needs an account, so every photograph has somebody who can take it down. That is the main reason accounts exist at all.
- You get a made-up name like SuperCat or SneakyOtter. Nobody picks one, so there is nothing to squat and no way to pose as somebody else. Change yours whenever you like.
- Your real name is never shown. We learn it from signing in and it stays where it is.
- Photos live where you uploaded them. We store the link, not the picture.
What it deliberately does not do
No email beyond replying to you. Nothing costs money, and there is no plan to change that by putting the site behind a payment. We do count page views — one way that never uses cookies, and Google Analytics, which does once you agree to it and not before.
There are adverts, and they are how it stays free. They come from Google, they set their own cookies, and we get no more information about you than you can see on your own profile. What that means in detail, and how to switch the personalised part off, is on the privacy page.
