Havapoo
The Havapoo crosses a Havanese with a Poodle, usually a Toy or Miniature.
It is a crossbreed rather than a breed, and it is bred as a small companion — both parents are sociable, people-oriented dogs with a long history as household companions rather than working animals.
It stands 20 to 38 centimetres, weighs 3 to 9 kilograms and lives ten to sixteen years. The coat is soft and wavy to curly and needs regular professional grooming. Temperament is generally cheerful, affectionate and trainable, and both parent breeds are notably attached to their people — which means a Havapoo left alone all day is a poor arrangement.

Living with a havapoo
The coat mats and needs professional grooming every six to eight weeks plus brushing several times a week. Many owners keep it clipped short, which is sensible.
No puppy can be promised hypoallergenic; coat type varies within a litter.
Both parent breeds were bred for company and neither copes well alone. Build up alone-time gradually from puppyhood, and think seriously about whether the household suits the dog.
Dental disease is near-universal in dogs this size. Brush daily from the start.
Ask about patellar luxation and PRA testing on both parents. Exercise needs are modest but they are clever and need mental work.
